What it means
Money dreams often work in reverse in Korean tradition — receiving a lot of cash can hint at spending or loss, while losing or giving money can point to gain coming back to you. Pay attention to how you feel in the dream more than the amount.
It depends how it appeared
The same symbol is read differently depending on what happened in the dream.
- You were given a large sum
- This is the symbol that runs backwards. Receiving money in a dream was read as money going out — the opposite of what the dream feels like.
- You lost money, or gave it away
- By the same reversal, the better side. Money leaving in a dream was read as money returning.
- You found money on the ground
- Read small. Picked-up money was taken as a small piece of luck rather than a sum, and the amount in the dream was not the point.
- It was old money, or foreign notes
- Read as money that cannot be spent here — something valuable but not yet usable, in the older books.
- You were counting it
- Read as the mind on money rather than money itself — a sign to look at what is actually being weighed up.
- How you felt matters more than the amount
- The rule the whole symbol runs on. Ease in the dream was read well whatever the sum; unease was read as the caution, even with a fortune in hand.
