Enter an annual or monthly salary to see what is left each month after National Pension, health, long-term care and employment insurance, income tax and local income tax. It uses the 2026 rates and Korea's official withholding table. For example, a salary of 30,000,000 won a year, with the 200,000 won tax-free meal allowance and no dependants, comes to ₩2,244,440 a month after deductions.
Choose “Annual salary” or “Monthly pay”, whichever you know, and enter it before deductions.
The tax-free box starts at the meal allowance limit. Change it to the tax-free total on your payslip, or 0 if you have none.
Enter the family members, counting yourself, and the children aged 8–20. Leave the withholding ratio as it is unless you asked your employer for another.
The month's insurance, taxes and take-home pay show in “One month's deductions” as you type.
If something goes wrong
No result? Read the note under the boxes: the children must be fewer than the family members, and the tax-free amount cannot be more than the monthly pay.
If your payslip differs, bonuses, the insurance settlements and the year-end tax settlement are the usual reasons.

How the take-home pay is worked outHow this works
The six deductions and their 2026 rates
The calculator works out the six amounts a Korean employer withholds from monthly pay. National Pension is 4.75% of the pension base: the total rate rose from 9% to 9.5% in 2026 and employer and employee pay half each. The pension base is your taxable monthly pay with anything under 1,000 won dropped, held between a floor and a cap that change every July. From July 2026 to June 2027 they are 410,000 and 6,590,000 won; from January to June 2026 they were 400,000 and 6,370,000 won.
Health insurance is 3.595% of taxable pay, half of the 7.19% total. Long-term care insurance is the health premium × 0.9448 ÷ 7.19, about 13.14% of it. Employment insurance is 0.9%, half of the 1.8% unemployment-benefit premium. Health and long-term care drop everything under 10 won, as the 4 Social Insurances information centre's calculator states. No official page we found states the rounding for the pension and employment premiums, so the same 10-won cut is used; the difference is under 10 won.
Income tax comes straight from the official table
Income tax uses the simplified withholding table for wage income in Annex 2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Income Tax Act, as amended on 27 February 2026. The whole table is copied into the page: 646 pay bands from 770,000 to 10,000,000 won a month, for 1 to 11 family members. Above 10,000,000 won the formulas printed under the table are used — for example, up to 14,000,000 won it is the 10,000,000-won amount, plus 35% of 98% of the excess, plus 25,000 won. For more than 11 family members, note 4 of the table is followed.
Family members count you and your spouse as one each. For children aged 8 to 20 among them, the table's note 3 takes off 20,830 won for one, 45,830 won for two, and 33,330 won more for each child after that, never going below zero. If you asked your employer to withhold 80% or 120% of the table amount, that ratio is applied next and anything under 10 won is dropped. Local income tax is 10% of the income tax.
Annual salary and tax-free pay
An annual salary is divided by 12 and cut to the won to give one month's pay. If you receive bonuses separately or your pay changes from month to month, the actual deductions will differ. A monthly amount is used as entered.
Tax-free pay is pay on which neither tax nor insurance is charged. The default of 200,000 won is the tax-free meal allowance: under Article 12 of the Income Tax Act, a meal allowance of up to 200,000 won a month paid to an employee who is not given meals is tax-free. If your employer also provides meals, the cash allowance may be taxable, so enter the tax-free total from your payslip, or 0. Every deduction here is worked out from pay minus the tax-free amount.
Why your payslip may differ
The result is an estimate at 2026 rates. Health insurance is settled each April against the previous year's pay, and the pension base is set from the previous year's income, so right after a pay change your payslip can differ. The pension covers workers under 60, so it may not be deducted at 60 or over.
Monthly income tax is a prepayment: the year's actual tax is worked out again in the year-end settlement (연말정산) the following February, and deductions such as card spending, medical or education costs are not part of this calculation. What you type is calculated in this browser only and is not sent anywhere; the site records only that the tool was used, by its name.
The result is an estimate at 2026 rates. Health insurance is settled each April against last year's pay, the pension base is set from last year's income, bonuses and changing pay alter the month, and income tax is settled again in the February year-end settlement. Workers aged 60 or over may have no pension deducted.
What is the 200,000 won tax-free amount?
It is the tax-free meal allowance: up to 200,000 won a month paid to an employee who is not given meals carries no tax or insurance (Income Tax Act, Article 12). If your employer provides meals, or you have other tax-free items, enter the tax-free total on your payslip, or 0.
How do I count family members?
Count yourself, your spouse and each dependant as one. Then enter how many of them are children aged 8 to 20: the official table takes 20,830 won off the tax for one such child, 45,830 won for two, and 33,330 won more for each after that.
