Merge PDF files into one for free, right here. The files are read and joined inside your browser and are not sent anywhere — it works with the internet switched off.
Press “Add PDF files”, or drop the files onto the box. You need at least two.
The files are joined in list order. Use ↑ and ↓ to change the order, and × to take one out.
Press “Merge” and the merged PDF downloads.
To get it again, press “Download again”; to begin a new merge, press “Start over”.
If something goes wrong
Files marked in red stop the merge. A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first with the Unlock a PDF tool and then added again; otherwise remove the red file with ×.
Pages are copied whole and not compressed. Bookmarks, fillable forms and document information are not carried over.
How the merge worksHow this works
Your files stay on your device
The files you add are read by this page inside your browser and merged there. This tool has no upload step and no server route; the merged PDF is built in your device's memory and handed straight to your downloads.
You do not have to take that on trust. Open the page, switch off Wi‑Fi or mobile data, and merge: it still works. The line under the result also counts the network requests made while the merge was running.
What is kept, and what is not
Each page is copied whole into the new file, so what is drawn on a page — text, images, links and notes — comes across unchanged. Pages are not re-drawn or compressed, which is why the merged file is about the size of the originals put together.
Three things belong to a document rather than to its pages, and they are not carried over: the bookmark list, a fillable form, and the original title and author information. If you need a form to stay fillable, merge it in the program that made it.
Files it refuses
A password-protected PDF is refused. Merging it anyway would give pages whose content is still locked, which open blank, so the page names the file instead. If you know the password, remove it first with the Unlock a PDF tool on this site and add the file again.
A damaged file, a file that is not a PDF, or a PDF with no pages is also named and left out. Nothing is merged until every file in the list can be read.
Order and limits
Files are joined top to bottom in the order of the list. Use the arrows to move a file up or down, and the cross to take it out. Whole files are merged; choosing single pages is not part of this tool. The saved file takes the name of the top file with “-merged” added.
The work is done by your device, so very large files on an older phone can take a while. It is a calculation, not a service: nothing is kept after you close the page.
No. This page reads and merges the files inside your browser, and there is no server step for this tool. You can test it yourself: open the page, switch off your internet connection, then merge. It still works. The line under the result also counts the network requests made while merging.
Can I merge PDFs on my phone?
Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser, tap “Add PDF files” and pick the files — several at once, or more later — then put them in order with the arrows and tap Merge. The merged PDF is saved to your phone's downloads. The work is done by the phone itself, so very large files on an older phone can take a while.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
No. A locked PDF is refused rather than merged, because merging it would give pages that open blank. If you know the password, remove it first with the Unlock a PDF tool on this site, then add the file again.
